tuenews INTERNATIONAL will be celebrating its 10th anniversary at the TüFolk concert on Sunday, 7 December 2025, starting at 7 p.m. at the Sudhaus in Tübingen.
In 2015 and 2016, hundreds of refugees had to live together in sports halls, with tarpaulins and construction fences separating rooms with bunk beds. People from different cultures came together in a confined space, and there was a lack of information. That was when tuenews INTERNATIONAL was created by the Tübingen District Office. Since the first edition on 1 December 2015, journalist coaches have been supporting around 20 authors whose flight ended in Germany. They research and write about topics related to their everyday life in Germany and about different cultures. Their own translations in Arabic, Persian, Ukrainian, English and German are available at www.tuenews.de/en/, on Instagram channels, via the tuenews app and the INTEGREAT app.
TüFolk is a transcultural music project by Klangfolk e.V. It brings together people of different origins, age groups and musical abilities to celebrate cultural diversity and strengthen social cohesion through making music together. The approach in sessions and concerts is not based on sheet music, but is taught and learned by ear using a peer-to-peer method.
At the TüFolk concert, Klangfolk e.V. presents a repertoire that 80 participants from Germany and abroad have developed during a workshop lasting several days. Afterwards, individual participants and small groups present short musical pieces and their own compositions on the open stage.
Tickets are available at the box office for 10 to 25 euros.
