Various trains on the Ammertalbahn will be canceled from December 14 until probably the beginning of March. This has been announced by the Ammertal Public Transport Association. The following connections will be affected from Monday to Friday when the new timetable comes into effect:
8:41 a.m. Tübingen – Herrenberg
9:19 a.m. Herrenberg – Tübingen
8:41 p.m. Tübingen – Herrenberg
9:19 p.m. Herrenberg – Tübingen
11:11 p.m. Tübingen – Herrenberg
11:49 p.m. Herrenberg – Tübingen
The reduction is due to the introduction of half-hourly services between Metzingen and Bad Urach. However, trains will still not run from Herrenberg to Bad Urach. This is apparently causing bottlenecks.
Intermediate service reduced
The intermediate trains between Tübingen and Entringen will only run on school days from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the intermediate service at lunchtime being discontinued. During the school holidays, it will be discontinued altogether. There will also be minor changes to bus connections in Pfäffingen and Wendelsheim.
The Ammertalbahn has reported positive results for its island operation: 95 percent of trains ran on time during the timetable year, and connections to the S-Bahn in Herrenberg were achieved in 97 percent of cases. Only 1.88 percent of trains were canceled.
