The online platform DataCheck Connect has been launched in Germany. It is aimed at Ukrainians and helps them find verified medical, psychological, social and legal support services in their local area.
Searching for local services
Users can search for services in their local area via the platform, for example by entering a postcode or address. The platform provides information on, amongst other things, psychological counselling, legal advice, health insurance, social assistance and support in difficult life situations. Users can also request a telephone interpreting service to book medical appointments. Use of the platform is free of charge; the support services listed there are also free of charge.
Services in a specific town
Users can also enter the postcode of a specific town. When searching using this postcode, the platform then displays all available services in the surrounding area. These include, amongst other things, help with filling in forms and applications, support with questions about health insurance, advice on AIDS and migration, testing for AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STI testing) and hepatitis C, legal information, help with discrimination, as well as support for people in crisis situations, those experiencing homelessness or those who have experienced violence.
Who is behind the project
The platform was jointly developed by Deutsche Aidshilfe, 100% Life and the National HIV Hotline Ukraine. The project is supported by the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
