The ‘Foodsharing’ initiative distributes leftover food that is still fit for consumption free of charge. Its aim is to prevent this food from being wasted or thrown away. Volunteers from the initiative collect it and deliver it, for example, to social services and publicly accessible distribution points (‘Fairteiler’). Anyone can help themselves to something there.
No registration or ID required
‘Fairteiler’ are special shelves and fridges where food can be left or taken away free of charge. These distribution points are open to everyone. No registration or proof of identity is required.
Volunteers ensure hygiene
The ‘Fairteiler’ are only accessible at certain times. Volunteers keep the area tidy and clean. They clean the shelves and fridges daily, check the food and remove any items that are no longer fit for consumption. This ensures the distribution points remain clean and the food safe. That is why even rescued food must meet the applicable hygiene standards.
Food-sharing café: Pay what you want
In Tübingen, the food-sharing café “Mehrrettich” is located at Neckarhalde 70. It is open from 10 am to 6 pm, Wednesday to Sunday. As well as drinks and food, it also hosts events ranging from family get-togethers and games to a book club and a language café. Guests pay whatever they wish or are able to. Food that is still edible can be dropped off during opening hours.

Eberhardskirche, Eugenstr. 30. In the foyer of the Eberhardskirche. Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 9 am – 6 pm. Erasmushaus, Bethlestr. 40. Outdoors next to the main entrance of the building.
Fairteiler at Weilheim Town Hall, Wilonstr. 43. At Weilheim Town Hall, on the right-hand side in front of the entrance, under the canopy.
Weststadt Youth Centre, Schleifmühleweg 71. The Fairteiler can be reached via the stairs directly behind the bridge or via a ramp to the right of the building. Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 2 pm – 6 pm (closed on Thursdays).
Mobile food-sharing point at the Protestant Community Centre, Lustnau, Lustnauer Kirchplatz 3. At the community centre under the arcades (sports hall; above the hard-surface court).
Tübingen Town Hall, am Markt 1. Opening hours: Mon–Thu: 8 am – 6 pm, Fri: 8 am – 4 pm. Enter via the main entrance and then turn right.
Schellingstr. 6 housing project. In the main building of the Schellingstr. 6 housing project; accessible 24 hours a day.
Foodsharing Rottenburg am Neckar:
The food-sharing point at Klause, Schadenweilerstraße 11/3, is located in the building opposite the youth centre. Go straight up from the car park, through the orange metal door. Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 10 am – 7 pm, Sat: 10 am – 3 pm.
The Fairteiler at Metzelplatz 8. Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 8 am – 8 pm, Sat: 8 am – 4 pm.
The Fairteiler in Rottenburg-Hemmendorf is located at Schloßhof 1. Opening hours: Mon–Sun: 7 am – 9 pm.
Foodsharing Kusterdingen:
The Fairteiler cupboard is to the left of the entrance at Hindenburgstraße 44. Food can be dropped off or collected 24 hours a day.
The food-sharing point in Mössingen
is situated on private land at Johannes-Gutenberg-Straße 56. The food-sharing point is open when the roller shutter is raised.
The Gomaringen food-sharing point
is located in the right-hand garage of the three garages next to the bus station on Härmlingsstraße. Opening hours are: Wed–Sat approx. 8.30 am – 6 pm.
The Ofterdingen food sharing point
is part of the ‘WiO’ (Welcome to Ofterdingen) community centre on Bachsatzstraße, between houses 30 and 32 (container). The food sharing point is always open on Mondays from 3 pm to 5 pm. It is generally closed during school holidays.
