German-Ukrainian dual degree

The University of Ulm and the National University of Charkiv V. N. Karasin have developed a joint study program. It enables students to obtain two degrees at the same time: one in Germany and one in Ukraine. The German-Ukrainian dual degree program provides for the simultaneous completion of a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science.

First online, then at Ulm University
One of the requirements is a knowledge of German at least at B1 level. The first three semesters of the program are conducted online. During this time, students study German in Munich. In the fourth and fifth semesters, students attend lectures and seminars directly at the University of Ulm. At the same time, they continue their studies online in Ukraine. The bachelor’s defense takes place at both the University of Ulm and the University of Kharkiv – during the war it is conducted by distance learning.

Equal rights and a scholarship
During their studies under the program, students have all the rights of German students, including accommodation in a student residence and a scholarship. The amount of the scholarship corresponds to the BAföG funding.
The corresponding agreement between the universities on the double degree program was signed in 2023. Currently, 6 students are already studying under this program. Another 8 students will go to Ulm from April 1, 2025, as can be read on the websites of the University of Karazin and Ulm.
