Helping with arrival and everyday life

Support and assistance for everyone—regardless of where they come from or their cultural background: That is the goal of the “Ammerbuch hilft” initiative. Committed citizens want to help refugees and people with a migrant background settle into their new environment. But the volunteers also want to be a point of contact for German residents of Ammerbuch who face particular challenges in their everyday lives. They work together with the Ammerbuch administration and the authorities responsible for the respective issues.

What welcome mentors do
The initiative offers a wide range of services. It starts with help in finding their way around their new environment. Support is also available in dealing with authorities such as the local government, the job center, the immigration office, and the employment agency. Welcome mentors can also be contacted for family issues, kindergarten, and school. Other topics include medical issues, coaching for job placement, and language courses. Mentors can also help with learning German in everyday life. Last but not least, the initiative is also about exchange and community, as stated in a flyer.
Those interested can contact the initiative by email at Ammerbuch-hilft@web.de or by mobile at +49 156 79581051.
