Refugees have many questions and first need to find their bearings in their new surroundings. The new website of the Friends of Refugees in Härten is designed to help them do just that. It is also aimed at volunteers.
The website has various sections, including one on the goals of the Friends of Refugees. It aims to provide support with all questions relating to everyday life – finding and furnishing accommodation, finding your way around the area and shopping, questions about public transport, finding work, dealing with authorities or doctors, learning German, or children’s homework. The contact details of the Freundeskreis (with a map) can be found on the homepage.
Necessary: apartments and work
Under “News,” you will find texts on German lessons, among other things. The dates for these lessons are listed under the “Events” section. The Freundeskreis team works closely with Nadezda Lyan. She is the integration manager of the specialist service for refugees at the Tübingen District Office. Their phone numbers and email addresses can be found under the heading “How can you help?” in the subsection “Where can refugees report their needs?” The heading “What is lacking” shows where support is needed. Families in particular are looking for apartments, while other refugees are looking for suitable jobs. But a stroller for twins is also on the list of needs.
