Deutsche Bahn (DB) and the Polish company PKP Intercity are significantly expanding long-distance rail services between Germany and Poland when the new timetable comes into effect on December 14, 2025: The number of daily direct connections will increase from 11 to 17 in each direction—an increase of over 50 percent. A seventh pair of trains will be introduced on the Berlin–Warsaw route, resulting in an almost continuous two-hourly service during the day.
There will be new direct connections
An important innovation for travel to Ukraine is the introduction of new direct connections to the border towns of Przemyśl and Chełm. The new Leipzig–Wrocław (Breslau)–Kraków (Krakow) line will run twice daily in each direction, with one of the journeys starting/ending in Przemyśl.
Additional night trains planned
Two night connections are also planned for the EuroCity: Berlin–Wrocław–Kraków–Przemyśl and Berlin–Łódź–Warszawa–Chełm. In addition, the “Chopin” night train from Munich to Warsaw will receive additional carriages and will be extended via Kraków to Przemyśl. All changes will come into effect on December 14, 2025.
Passengers will need around 3.5 hours for the Leipzig–Wrocław route and around 5 hours for the Berlin–Warsaw route on the direct EuroCity. Tickets for the new timetable will go on sale on October 15, 2025, on DB Navigator and at bahn.de
