Navigating streets in Germany in your own language

People who have set their mobile phones to a foreign language and want to navigate to a German address on Google Maps, for example, often encounter problems. How are they supposed to enter the German address using the characters of their native language? Once navigation apps recognise that someone is in Germany, they support the entry of German addresses, even if someone enters them using the characters of their native language. So, for example, instead of ‘Ausländeramt’ (foreigners’ registration office), you can also enter “Ауслендерамт” or ‘أوسلندرأمت’. Sometimes it makes sense to try different name variations. It is more reliable to enter the name in German, which can be added via the keyboard settings. Once you have found your destination in the list, you can display the route to it.
