When a baby is born, most families are overjoyed. However, this can be very stressful for mothers. Meetings with friends or former colleagues are difficult to organize at first. Some women then often feel quite lonely—especially if they come from a foreign country and do not yet have many close friends here.
In the district of Tübingen, however, there are a large number of groups and offers aimed at young mothers. These include toddler groups, baby cafés and parent-child groups. They are not only available in the city of Tübingen, but also in the communities in the district. The Protestant and Catholic parishes also have their own programs. They are all open to women with a migration background and offer a good opportunity to speak German.
