According to the city administration, there is now a payment machine at both the Tübingen Citizens’ Office in the city centre and the Foreigners’ Registration Office. Citizens receive a payment card at the counter, which they can then use to pay in cash at the machine. Those who wish to pay by EC card can do so both at the counter and at the machine. The cash registers at the counters have been removed. “In this way, the city administration is further digitising the processing of payment transactions, simplifying internal processes and using human resources more efficiently,” according to the city’s press release.
