Pilot project „Open with Safety” ends – free testing continues

Starting Sunday, April 25th, 2021, the Tübingen pilot project “Open with Safety” won’t exist anymore. This means that the residents of the district of Tübingen can no longer go shopping or visit cultural events with a day ticket after getting a negative corona rapid test result. This was announced by the City of Tübingen in a press release.

With the end of the pilot project, the stricter measures in Tübingen, such as the mandatory test for employees, the expanded mandatory mask-wearing downtown and the ban on alcohol consumption in certain public places, also ends.

The city administration will continue the testing service for residents of Tübingen: Even after the pilot project has ended, you can take a corona rapid test daily for free. In downtown Tübingen, the test centers on the market place, at the Neckar bridge (citizens and tourist association) and in the culture hall will remain open.
