State elections: young people with a migrant background

The Baden-Württemberg State Agency for Civic Education is providing young people with a “light thread” about the 2026 state elections. It includes interviews with young candidates with a migrant background. It also contains information, data, facts, and interesting facts about voting from the age of 16 and the Baden-Württemberg state parliament.
People with a migration background are underrepresented in the state parliament, even though many are now eligible to vote and make up an increasingly large proportion of the population. That is why the State Agency for Civic Education has chosen this topic for its latest newsletter on youth participation:

The digital newsletter of the State Agency for Civic Education in Baden-Württemberg, “Beteiligungs-Dings. Light-Faden,” provides information on important topics related to youth participation. It is published at irregular intervals. The issues are available online at www.lpb-bw.de/beteiligungs-dings-light-faden.
