12. December 2025

Ukrainian films with charity breakfast

From December 21, 2025, to March 15, 2026, the Tübingen Kino Museum (Am Stadtgraben 2) will show Ukrainian films in their original language with German or English subtitles once a month. The screenings will be accompanied by a Ukrainian breakfast, with proceeds going to humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

Comedy and documentary

On December 21, 2025, at 12 noon, the New Year’s comedy “December 31 Express” will be shown with German subtitles. This will be followed on January 11, 2026, at 12 noon by the documentary “Yaremchuk: Matchless World of Beauty” about the life of singer Nasarij Jaremtschuk. On February 22, 2026, at 12 noon, “2000 Meters to Andriivka” will be shown—a documentary by the team behind “20 Days in Mariupol” about Ukrainian soldiers on the front line. On March 15, 2026, at 12 noon, the tragicomedy “Luxembourg, Luxembourg” will conclude the film series.

Donations for Ukraine aid

The series is organized by the volunteer project SonnenBlau in cooperation with the cinema network Tübinger Kinos. Since 2022, the SonnenBlau team has been organizing exhibitions, film screenings, and other events and collecting donations for medical aid for Ukraine. The proceeds from the Ukrainian breakfast will go to the initiative Tübingen hilft Ukraine (Tübingen helps Ukraine)—a group of volunteers in Tübingen who collect donations in kind and money, organize aid transports to Ukrainian cities, and work with local partners to ensure that aid reaches people affected by the war quickly. Donations during the events are voluntary.

Tickets also available online

Tickets for all screenings can be purchased online at tuebinger-kinos.de or directly at the Kino Museum box office. It is recommended to reserve seats in advance and arrive a little early to sample Ukrainian specialties.tun25121001
