Useful German for older immigrants

Everyday topics are the focus of a free German course for immigrants of retirement age. It begins on Wednesday, 4 February, at the Rottenburg Adult Education Centre (VHS). Participants must be in receipt of a pension or basic income support and provide proof of this.
The course focuses on important everyday topics such as shopping, visits to the doctor, dealing with authorities, housing, mobility and social communication. According to the VHS, the course is designed to take into account the special learning needs of older participants. No prior knowledge of German is required.

It’s also about social contacts

In addition to teaching everyday language, the course, which will be held 75 times on Wednesdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m., is also intended to promote social contacts. Those interested can register on Mondays from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Rottenburg Adult Education Centre, Sprollstraße 22, room 205. Susanne Anane is responsible for the course. She can be contacted at susanne.anane@vhs-rottenburg.de.
