Not just a free hot meal for those in need – the Vesper Kirche (“snack churches”) in Rottenburg and Tübingen welcome everyone who wants to eat in community. There are also a number of free offers.
The Rottenburg Vesper Church in the Protestant parish hall in Kirchgasse starts on Sunday, January 26 with a church service and runs until February 14. It is open daily from 11 am to 2 pm. Volunteers take care of the offers. Anyone looking for someone to talk to or who needs help with everyday things will find open ears and supportive hands, according to the website. The Tübingen Vesperkirche in St. Martin’s Church opens its doors again on February 2. Every day between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. until February 22, there is not only a hot lunch and free coffee and cake. On Mondays you can have your hair cut. A doctor is on site on Tuesdays. There is also free legal and social counseling. Personal conversation and community are very important to the organizers – that all social groups talk to each other. That is why not only those in need are invited to the Vesperkirche in Tübingen. Anyone can come for a meal and give a financial contribution according to their means.

Vesperkirche in Reutlingen already open
The Vesperkirche in Reutlingen’s Nikolaikirche has already begun. “Heart instead of hustle and bustle” is the motto there. Not least because the Vesper Church period falls at a time when the election campaign is likely to be heated, the organizers write on the website.
