Some female migrants have never cycled before. They can change that now. The Adult Education Centre (VHS) in Rottenburg offers a course especially for refugees, with eight sessions every Wednesday. It starts on 7 May and runs until 17 July.
The course also covers traffic rules
The course instructor is Yaman Alnajar. She not only teaches women how to ride a bicycle, but also traffic rules, which are also practised in a practical way. The VHS provides bicycles and helmets for the course.
The participants meet at 10 a.m. at the traffic training ground. The course runs until 11:30 a.m. and costs 30 euros. Further information is available from the VHS on request by email to info@vhs-rottenburg.de or by phone on 07472 / 983 30.
Workshop also sells bikes
The course is a collaboration between the VHS, the Rottenburg refugee representative and the local volunteer bicycle repair shop. If necessary, a bicycle can also be purchased from her for a small fee.
