After the summer break, screenings of Ukrainian films will continue at Kino Museum in Tübingen as part of the “Ukrainian Cinema” programme
The programme begins on 20 September 2026 with “Sanatorium”. All screenings take place on Sundays. “On Drive” will be shown on 18 October, followed by “The Underground Garden” on 22 November and “Carol of the Bells” on 27 December
A Ukrainian breakfast will also be available for a donation at several screenings. Before “Sanatorium” on 20 September and “On Drive” on 18 October, breakfast starts at 11.30 a.m.
On Being Different: A Reading for Families
A special event in the programme will be “Between Book and Screen: On Being Different – Про інакшість & Stop-Zemlia” on Saturday, 24 October. It will take place from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Kino Museum in the Arsenal hall and is part of Tübingen’s Children’s and Youth Book Week “Leselust”.
The event is organised in cooperation with Landestheater Tübingen (LTT) and is intended for children, young people and families. First, Yaroslav Somkin, an actor at Landestheater Tübingen, will read excerpts in Ukrainian from prose works by well-known Ukrainian authors on the theme of being different. The reading is for visitors aged ten and over.
Breakfast, Film and Books for Young People
Afterwards, the film “Stop-Zemlia” will be shown in Ukrainian with German subtitles. The film is recommended for viewers aged 12 and over. Tübingen City Library will also present a small exhibition of Ukrainian books for children and young people.
A Ukrainian breakfast will also be served, with the proceeds going towards humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Admission costs six euros.
The screenings are co-organised by the independent initiative Sonnenblau Tübingen. They bring together the Ukrainian community and anyone interested in Ukrainian cinema. The programme aims to create opportunities for people to meet, exchange ideas and talk to one another.
