On Entdeckungsriese, Arabic-speaking children can enjoy two stories. This is made possible by the “Klischeefrei” initiative, which publishes free audiobooks and e-books for various age groups on its website.
The adventure begins at Grandma Eda’s house. There, children care for sick animals, fix broken things, and bake. Through these activities, the girls and boys can learn about different professions—free from traditional gender roles. They go on an adventure, try new things, and discover their strengths.
Talents Don’t Depend on Gender
The stories are intended for children in first and second grade or third and fourth grade. Interactive materials help children talk with their parents about their own abilities and careers. With this initiative, “Klischeefrei” aims to ensure that typical gender stereotypes do not influence career choices. “Interests, talents, and abilities,” according to the initiative, “do not depend on gender.” The books can be downloaded from the initiative’s website. They are also available in Turkish and Russian.
