In 2025, 3,397 people were deported from Baden-Württemberg. Compared to 2024, this represents an increase of 18.2 per cent. The figures had already risen from 2023 to 2024, increasing by 35.4 per cent from 2,099 to 2,873 deportations. These figures were published by the Baden-Württemberg Refugee Council in a press release; they are based on data from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior.
Most of those deported were from Turkey (411 people), followed by Georgia (329 people) and North Macedonia (248 people). In 2025, 13 people were deported to Afghanistan; in 2024, the figure was five. In addition, one person was deported to Iran in 2025. A total of 137 people were deported to Iraq.
1,065 people were not deported to their country of origin, but to an EU country or another European country. The reason for this could be that they had already been granted protection status in another country, or that, under the Dublin Regulation, another EU Member State is responsible for their asylum procedure because they first entered that country. In 2025, for example, this affected 173 people from Syria and 117 from Afghanistan.
