New pathways to employment for women

Women from other countries find it particularly difficult to find work in Germany. The “ChAI” project – Challenge Arbeitsmarktintegration International – is aimed at them. It launches in the Tübingen district on 1 June. An information session will be held on Friday 22 May from 10 am to 12 noon in the Middle Conference Room (Room D0 04) of the Tübingen District Office (Wilhelm-Keil-Straße 50). Anyone wishing to attend must register at ami@kreis-tuebingen.de
The project aims to help women with a migration background prepare for the labour market. It is aimed at female migrants who speak German to at least A2 level and wish to work or undertake vocational training here. Participants will receive support for nine months through language tuition, work experience placements in various professions, as well as advice and coaching: this also covers the recognition of qualifications and job application training. There is also information on employment law and the different types of vocational training. Another key topic is finding suitable childcare.
ChAI is supported by the Refugee and Integration Department at Tübingen District Office, as well as the Federal Employment Agency and the Jobcentre. The initiative is one of 18 projects in the state funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs. ChAI receives €147,000 from the ‘Perspective on Work – A Boost for Women with Migration Experience’ funding line of the European Social Fund Plus.
