Starting January 1, 2027, all bus tickets in the Naldo transit network and under Tübingen’s city fare system will become more expensive: Prices will rise by an average of 5.9 percent. In Tübingen, the “short-distance” ticket will be discontinued. Passengers will then have to purchase a more expensive single-ride ticket.
A single-ride ticket for adults in Tübingen will cost 3.70 euros in the future, and 2.00 euros for children. Four-ride cards and day passes will also become more expensive. According to Naldo and TüBus, the fare adjustment is due to higher costs for staff, energy, vehicles, and maintenance. Another change: Starting in 2027, there will be fewer and fewer ticket machines on the buses. All electric buses will no longer have them.
Passengers without a D-Ticket will pay more
A large proportion of passengers in the district and the university town now use the Deutschlandticket. The increases, according to Naldo in a statement, would therefore affect only one in five passengers. It is not yet clear how much the Deutschlandticket and the Tübingen variants will cost in 2027. Students and apprentices in Tübingen can continue to use the city-subsidized D-Ticket JugendBW Tübingen.
