The Ammertalbahn will be out of service between Tübingen and Herrenberg from August 29 through September 5. This is due to renovation and maintenance work. The last train will depart on Friday, August 28, at 9:20 p.m. Service will resume on Sunday, September 6, at 10:00 a.m., according to the Ammertal Public Transportation Authority (Zweckverband ÖPNV im Ammertal).
During the full closure, buses will run from Tübingen to Herrenberg. There will be a slower regional bus and an express bus. All buses depart from platform R at the Tübingen Central Bus Station (ZOB); in Herrenberg, the buses stop at platform A.

On the buses—if space permits—a maximum of three bicycles may be carried. However, strollers and wheelchairs have priority.
The special-purpose association also notes that on Monday, August 31, “chemical weed control” will take place along the entire route. A Unimog will be spraying herbicides. These are based on biological active ingredients and are harmless to humans, animals, and the environment. Additionally, there may be occasional noise during the construction work.
