Deutsche Bahn is launching a new summer offer: with the “Super Sparpreis Last Minute”, passengers can buy long-distance tickets within Germany from as little as €6.99 between 9 May and 13 September 2026. This has been announced by Deutsche Bahn. However, these low-cost tickets can only be booked at very short notice.
When the tickets are available
The offer is only available at weekends: every Saturday and Sunday, tickets can be booked for journeys in the following week – from Monday to Sunday. The tickets are available online at bahn.de and via the DB Navigator app. In the booking system, they are marked with a crown and the word “Aktion”.
How much the journey costs
The cheapest ticket for a single journey in 2nd class costs €6.99. However, prices depend on availability, so the cheapest tickets are only available whilst seats are still available. Holders of a BahnCard 25 or BahnCard 50 receive an additional 25 per cent discount. However, this does not apply to the City-Ticket.
All long-distance trains included
The offer applies to journeys within Germany on ICE, IC and EC trains. As with other Super Saver tickets, the ticket is train-specific – meaning it is only valid for the train specified on the ticket. Regional trains such as RE, RB, IRE or the S-Bahn can be used for the journey to or from the destination if they were selected at the time of booking.
Cancellation only within three hours
The “Super Sparpreis Last Minute” cannot be exchanged or cancelled. An exception applies to free immediate cancellation within three hours of purchase, provided the ticket was bought via bahn.de or the DB Navigator and the first day of validity has not yet begun.
Special arrangements for families
Children up to and including the age of five travel free of charge and do not need to be listed on the ticket. Children aged six to 14 can travel free of charge with an accompanying adult aged 15 or over, but must be listed on the ticket. Up to four children can be included per ticket.
