In the first half of 2026, there were more than 9,600 deportations from Germany. According to the Mediendienst Integration, that is 18 percent fewer than in the same period a year ago. Most people were deported to Turkey, Georgia, and Algeria. The report goes on to state that nearly 9,300 people left voluntarily with the help of a support program—26 percent more than in the first half of 2025.
More Voluntary Departures in 2025
Throughout 2025, nearly 22,800 people were deported from Germany—about 13 percent more than in 2024. Twenty-one percent of those deported were women, and 16 percent were minors, according to the Mediendienst report.
In 2025, approximately 36,200 people voluntarily left Germany with a border-crossing certificate. Of these, approximately 8,300 came from Turkey and 4,400 from Syria. During the same period, approximately 16,600 people voluntarily left Germany through the federal-state support program REAG/GARP—about 4,400 from Turkey and 3,700 from Syria.
